Overview

Summary/Objective

The Project Manager position manages all aspects of client projects from inception to conclusion. The Project Manager supports the vision, mission, and guiding principles of BankOnIT.  

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with Solutions Project Technicians and Project Technical Specialists to plan and coordinate the success of various client-initiated and internal projects including, but not limited to, new client implementations and standardizations, existing client projects, internal service enhancements, and process definition and/or implementation.
  • Communicate project progress, decisions, and deviations with clients, vendors, technicians, and management.
  • Provide training/coaching on how to plan projects and/or communicate properly with clients to Project Planning Technical Specialists and/or technical staff.
  • Host and attend meetings as necessary to communicate with clients and staff.
  • Oversee project tasks and expectations to provide streamlined project execution in a professional manner.
  • Serve as a company liaison to clients during implementations and larger projects.
  • Be able and willing to take escalations calls from clients who wish to speak with a manager –hearing their concerns, empathizing with the situation, and working towards an agreeable solution with the client.
  • Track project budgets and hours as required.
  • Monitor real-time events and multi-task between various concurrent activities.
  • Involve senior management on more sensitive or complex problems.
  • Perform related work as required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role is responsible for supervising and leading a dynamic team, including Project Coordinators and Project Technicians, ensuring smooth project execution and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment (both internally/externally) and travels in an automobile (or possibly an airplane). This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, and copy machines.  This role routinely operates a company motor vehicle.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time; stand; walk; use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work and days are variable, but typically Monday through Friday. Weekly backup coverage rotations are required. Project Managers are expected to be on call at any time to assist with the successful completion of project tasks. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. 

Travel

Periodic travel is expected for this position.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Advanced capabilities to provide verbal and written communications with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced ability to translate project concepts into easy-to-understand language.
  • At least one year of project or employee management work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or business-related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Two or more years of project or employee management work experience.
  • One or more relevant project management certifications (e.g., Project+, CAPM, and PMP).
  • Intermediate experience implementing clients under the BankOnIT Bankers Private Cloud model.
  • Master’s (or higher) degree in Project Management or business-related field.
