Overview

Summary/Objective 

The Build Room Supervisor position oversees the configuration and user management team to ensure new users and devices are configured accurately and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Supervise day to day responsibilities of configuration team functions
  • Determine work priorities and delegate tasks to technicians as needed.
  • Communicate with clients regarding new equipment orders
  • Serve as an escalation point with regards to configuration items
  • Hold regular meetings with the configuration team
  • Work with Build Room technicians to ensure adherence to departmental and company standards with regard to the execution of their jobs.
  • Perform related work as required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct reports and supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, shredders, laminators, and scanners. In addition, this role routinely uses shipping equipment such as dollies, scales, and packing essentials.  Further, this role routinely uses tools such as screwdrivers, plyers, compressed air, and flashlights to interact with computer hardware.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but could require occasional deviations.

Travel

Occasional travel is expected for this position – primarily in-town or between our branch offices.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Advanced understanding of desktop operating systems and various software applications.
  • Advanced understanding of PC hardware, server hardware, and dedicated networking hardware.
  • Advanced understanding of Internet technologies and products.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical safety procedure.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate’s (or higher) degree in computer science-related field.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., A+, Network+, Security+ and Microsoft Endpoint Administrator).
