Overview

Summary/Objective

The Solutions Inventory Specialist is a staff position that maintains and supports all inventory functions.  They will also serve as a backup to the Shipping/Receiving Specialist.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Under limited supervision, conduct day-to-day responsibilities of inventory.
  • Support shipping/receiving processes when the shipping/receiving associate is out of the office.
  • Communicate with clients regarding new equipment orders.
  • Compile inventory reports to provide to the supervisor.
  • Maintain inventory levels to ensure business needs can be met.
  • Receive and check in inventory as it arrives from various carriers.
  • Check outut inventory to technical staff as needed.
  • Ensure adequate quantities remain in stock and reorder as needed.
  • Keep inventory counts in all locations, as well as ordering thresholds.
  • Facilitate hardware disassembly for destruction and recycling purposes.
  • Maintain destruction and recycling program for decommissioned hardware.
  • Organize stock rooms quarterly throughout the year.
  • Conduct bi-annual inventory reconciliation
  • Communicate with technicians, supervisors, managers, vendors, and clients with regard to inventory-related tasks.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, shredders, laminators, and scanners. In addition, this role routinely uses shipping equipment such as dollies, scales, and packing essentials.  Further, this role routinely uses tools such as screwdrivers, plyers, compressed air, and flashlights to interact with computer hardware.

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time; stand; walk; use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. 

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work and days are variable, but typically Monday through Friday in one of the following timeslots:  7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Week-long on-call rotations may be required and will possibly have an alternate work schedule. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

 

Travel

Occasional travel is expected for this position – primarily in-town or between our branch offices.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Experience with organizing and maintaining inventory control processes.
  • Advanced understanding of PC hardware, server hardware, and dedicated networking hardware.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • At least Three years of related inventory control work experience.
  • Associate’s (or higher) degree in computer science-related field.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., A+, Network+ and Security+).
